Not sure if I’ll make it to tomorrow’s morning thread (or if I can stay awake to FReep when TyphoidBarry is on tonight.)
On Saturday my 17 year came home from his HS soccer game complaining of headache; scratchy throat; runny nose. Sunday am he was “hot” to the touch (I feel bad, but he just wanted to sleep and I had the granddaughter so him staying in his room, not spreading his germies). Gave him ibuprofen and let him sleep. Monday he stayed home and slept all day (hacking in his sleep).
Well I got the headache part Monday night, sudden high fever, coughing and so congested. Sickest I’ve been in years...son had a paper due on Tuesday so he went yesterday. He said about 10 % absenteeism (even having subs in). Is this the EV-D68? Who knows (and would they ever really tell us)? I’ve been following the “sick kid threads” here (when I’ve been awake). With having 5 kids and 26 straight years of having a child in this public school system I CAnnot remember any “back to school” flu outbreak this bad or this early.
But stock up on Clorox wipes and hand sanitizer—there is a NASTY BUG IN SW PA right now.”
Keep her in your prayers. AND, we should all take her advice about the clorox wipes and hand sanitizer!

Posting late as it’s past my bedtime but I’m up with the EXACT SAME symptoms as you outlined in the above post: started Sunday evening w scratchy throat, then sneezing, cough, full-blown sore throat, fever, body aches, and today a very wicked headache. I felt better last evening so I went on a four mile run. Dumb idea. I’m now feeling like a college zombie. Ugh.....thank you, third world immigrants. Sorry if I sound like a xenophobic racist but one has to wonder where all these strange viruses spring from
I know I don’t post often but I do follow the thread. I too miss Q&R (Quinn mostly). Thanks for keeping the thread going.

ANd as far as the SW PA illness...YUP! There is something going around and even mrs p6 thinks it’s related to the invasion across the southern border.

I received the same e-mail last night. It was forwarded to all of the members of the Indiana/Armstrong Patriots.
Let me clarify; It was an e-mail probably sent from the state Tea Party chair to all the groups listed. It was then disseminated to all the members. Quinn and/or Rose probably received it from one of those groups.

Very disturbing about PA Mom’s illness. Hope she and her kids are better soon. Even the resident liberals at work think this “mystery virus” has something to do with the recent immigrant invasion.
That was a very powerful show. Very sobering and very well done. Yes, I miss it too.
I hope everyone feeling under the weather gets better quickly. I honestly think this is a direct result of the flood of illegals.
I wonder if we tweeted Jim if there were a place to listen to a past 9/11 memorial broadcast if he’d reply.
I sent an e-mail to Rose. It will probably get lost in the many e-mails she receives, but worth a try anyway?
