That’s not Kiel, he wasn’t in “Gator.” That was the late William Engesser with the late Jerry Reed, who was just a smidge taller than Kiel at 7’3”.

Richard Kiel was afflicted with acromegaly, a pituitary gland disorder that results in a type of giantism.

You can see a physical resemblance between Kiel and Tony Robbins who has the same condition.

“Even in Happy Gilmore you could tell he wasn’t in the best of health, literally leaning on people to stay upright.”

In the early ‘90s Kiel had been in a serious car wreck that left him with balance problems. That’s what you were seeing.

Let's not forget his role in an episode of Star Trek, and his classic line from "The Longest Yard," "I think I broke his f#$%*&g neck!"

Wow. Thought he must be dead already. Like Ted Cassidy (lurch) and Andre the giant, these guys don’t live that long

Yea my mistake DJ. It's been a long time since I've seen the movie and not too many actors except Ted Cassidy, Engesser, and Kiel were that tall and big. I'd guess Kiel likely had a blood clot from the broken leg. Not that uncommon for larger persons who suffer leg injuries.

Cassidy from accounts I've read was a good man. Out of respect I try not to call John Kerry "Lurch" LOL. Burt Reynolds and Charles Bronson movies were ones I went to drive inns to see as a teen.

Well, when you post a factoid in ALL CAPS, as you did, you're only inviting someone like me to conduct due diligence to determine your credibility. You failed. It's okay. Happens to most of us.

He may have appeared in a guest role on the series at some point, but he was only the Incredible Hulk long enough for some preliminary footage to be shot for the pilot, before the part was recast. I spoke to him on the phone once, trying to arrange an interview with him to discuss his Hulk experience (and hopefully obtain some photos of him in the makeup), but he didn’t want to do it.

Okay, I didn't know that. I guess I made an assumption: usually guys that size have a range of health problems.

Still, a memorable James Bond villain. I could have seen a couple more movies with Jaws in it.
