A former senior executive for the New York Mets charged that she was "humiliated" and eventually fired by chief operating officer Jeff Wilpon for having a baby out of wedlock in a new lawsuit filed in Brooklyn federal court on Wednesday.
Leigh Castergine, who earned a six-figure salary as head of Mets Ticket Sales and Service Operations from 2010 to 2014, said that in one executive meeting she attended Wilpon brought up her pregnancy in a discussion of e-cigarette ads.

She had a baby in a new lawsuit? I always put on clothes I didn’t care about when it was time to deliver.
The baby was born wearing a lawsuit?
Is that like powered armor, a chainsaw suit, or some similar bizarre attire?
“Castergine was fired on Aug. 26, three minutes after her lawyer sent an email to the team claiming that she was being discriminated against, the lawsuit said.”
To lazy to write a letter?
I was going to ask why she wasn’t married, but the answer (free milk/cow) is obvious. But this Wilpon idiot went about it wrong and opened his organization to all kinds of liability.
I bet there is more to the story than this. But if she was really terminated due to unwed pregnancy, she has a very strong case. Look for a big dollar settlement for the Mets to make this go away.
Wow...if the article is correct...Mets COO Whipon...is going to lose big and cost him a boatload of cash...
I wonder how many Met players had a baby out of wedlock...?
Did he call them immoral or harassed them...?
One could argue that if she was subject to some kind of “morality” clause such a dismissal would be justified.
Get women out of the workplace.
If true, this lawsuit will be settled out of court for an "undisclosed sum".
This could be the best thing to ever happen to the franchise in years. Anything that could hasten Fred and Jeff toward the exits can only be positive for the team.

That is none other than Ed Kranepool. The best .240 hitter in the history of the game.
“Ed Kranepool - Borrow Chico’s soap and never give it back.”
I’d nail it, but the only person I would tell is Laz....wha....what the hell?!? Did I just say that out loud?!?
