FULL TITLE: Father admits to killing his five young children who were reported missing last week and dumping their bodies in trash bags on a rural Alabama roadside

A father is suspected of killing his five young children and then driving for hours before dumping their bodies, wrapped in individual garbage bags, on a dirt road in rural Alabama, authorities said today.

Timothy Ray Jones Jr, 32, led investigators to the site where the bodies of the children were found, off a two-lane highway near Camden, Alabama.

Jones has been charged with child neglect and police expect to lodge additional charges against him in connection with the children's deaths, authorities in South Carolina and Mississippi said.

Jones was already in custody in Raleigh, Mississippi, after being detained on Saturday on suspicion of driving under the influence.

They said Jones' SUV was towed and upon inspection of the vehicle, evidence of a crime was found.

The decomposed bodies of the victims, aged from one to eight years old, were found stuffed into garbage bags near a logging road in Alabama.

Brave enough to kill five babies, but not brave enough to kill himself instead.

Sounds like a whack-job trying to get revenge on his wife by destroying what was most precious to her.

Hang him high.

“Investigators from several departments and the FBI started looking for the missing children on Monday, he said.”

Too little and WAAAAY too late. Social services is a joke EVERYWHERE!

This was a long time coming and NO ONE had a grasp of the problem.

SMITH COUNTY, Miss.–Picked up in Mississippi Saturday night at a DUI checkpoint in Smith County, Tim Jones, Jr. is in that jail until arrangements are made to get him back to South Carolina, where he will face charges of murdering his five children.

Police said Jones, 32, was divorced from his wife and she had called police when he did not bring the kids home. The bodies were found Tuesday, wrapped in individual plastic bags, at a site near Camden, Ala. That’s is Wilcox County.

Alabama State Trooper Steve Jarrett said at a news conference that he did not know why Jones chose to dump the bodies in Alabama. It was also not clear why he was in Mississippi.

The children were one to 8 years old.

In Mississippi, Jones faces DUI and drug possession charges, said Smith County Sheriff Charlie Crumpton, who added that deputies took Jones in when he became agitated during the checkpoint stop Saturday night around 10.

He said an odor of meth-making chemicals was coming from the Cadillac Escalade, and they found meth and Spice, or synthetic marijuana.

When deputies searched his SUV, they found evidence of a crime and called in investigators from the Miss. Bureau of Investigation, who did a fine tooth comb search of the vehicle.

The deputies ran a check on Jones, finding the warrant from South Carolina, which came from the mom calling police about her missing kids. The kids were on a national missing persons list.

After spending some time with Jones, MBI agents and Alabama authorities were pointed to the spot where the kids were found.

“The suspect actually brought law enforcement from out of state to this location,” said Jarrett.

“The seriousness of this violent crime is unconscionable,” said Mississippi Public Safety Commissioner Albert Santa Cruz. “We gladly offer any and all resources of the Department of Public Safety to all law enforcement involved to ensure the person or persons responsible for this crime are held accountable.”

......this makes me wonder if I wouldn’t be better off just NEVER reading the NEWS or ANYTHING!

That a “human” is capable of doing something like this shakes the very foundations of my psyche!

My guess is he just decided in his mind that he couldn’t take proper care of them and their mother couldn’t either so his answer was to just kill them! In addition, there probably was some deep, deep anger at the wife and this was his way to get back at her.

He should be exterminated like a rabid dog! A trial should not take 5 minutes. Then march him outside and line him up against the courthouse wall and shoot the miserable son of a bitch.

Liberals though will make us spend millions on a 6 week trial televised worldwide and then appeals and incarceration spread out over the next 40 years. As a country, we are insane regarding our criminal laws and their implementation.

The state will try to exterminate this piece of human trash after twenty years or so due to lawyers trying to save his life because of the inhumane way he’d be put to sleep, comfortably ....

The other option is to put him in general population.Within a week the problem will be solved.

I doubt they would put him in general population because of what he did. He’d be in isolation. Hopefully for the rest of his life. Alone with his thoughts.

Andrea Yates, meet Timothy Jones!

Both of you deserve to be dead.

But guess what Timothy?

Unlike Andrea, you are a white male and will not be able to get away with an insanity plea and you will be executed!
