Did the NFL suspend Ray Rice indefinitely after he was given an initial 2 game suspension because A.) they saw the video inside the elevator, or B.) because we saw the inside-the-elevator video?
If it is because of A, then why did they formulate a 6 game suspension to be followed by banning for a second offense and not apply the 6 game rule to Ray Rice? If this is because the inside-the-elevator video surfaced, then will the NFL have a system for those who are caught by video and those not caught by video?
In the end, IMHO, Ray Rice should have been given indefinite suspension when the outside-the-elevator video surfaced, and not just a 2 game suspension, and let him earn his return like Michael Vick did.
Because we saw it.
This is disgusting. I am finding it more and more difficult to watch the NFL and I have been a major fan for many a decade.
Has Goodell handled anything well?
It is truly the glitz league. Look around at the culture, and it’s really no surprise modern era NFL is the biggest pro sport by far and only keeps growing. In my opinion the worst parts of it are the parts that most fans seem to love the most, it appeals to the lowest common denominator.

If anyone thinks Goodell didn’t see the video before, I have some swampland in Florida to sell them.
Like I said I don't care a wit about the player, it's more about the invasion of privacy. I know this nit wit did it in a public place but still.
I also can't get over the fact, that she married him any way. But dumb women are dumb women.
I just don't know about this one.
I demand it accurately reflect race demographics in its player rosters. Then I will watch it, MAYBE.
That’s just it, don’t you get the impression that the way the game is played with fruity celebrations and chest slapping displays are very popular aspects of the NFL amongst the great majority of its fans? Look at the backlash when they try to impose excessive celebration rules. It’s like what I would consider the worst aspects of modern NFL are the most popular.

I think we're in complete agreement. I've been saying much the same thing to others.
Rice is obviously a scumbag, but he’s paid to win football games, not be a role model to the kiddies. What does his consensual abusive relationship with his wife have to do with that?
When I was much younger, a high school boyfriend got so mad at me that he punched a hole in the wall just over my shoulder. To this day, I still flinch at times and just can’t imagine being hit that hard. That being said, I hope someone reaches out to the football player’s wife. She needs help.
While I agree with what you are saying I will point you towards the NBA where the thug culture is thriving.
They still have a league? I haven’t watched that in years.
I’m all for the discipline, but there should be some opportunity for redemption and making the negative a positive. Michael Vick was allowed back, and he was a convicted felon. I’m sure there are other wife and kid beaters in the NFL. Rice could be a great example of someone who addressed this mental disorder and over came it, being a witness for others.
ABC News supposedly has another longer hi-def video with audio. Thus far they have refused to release it for supposed legal issues. I think the mainstream news also saw this video months ago but they didn’t want to lose out on Superbowl tickets. Remember how everyone in the media (including Rush Limbaugh) claimed that the Tiger Woods wife cheating was an open secret?
Excellent!
I demand it accurately reflect race demographics in its player rosters. Then I will watch it, MAYBE.
Blacks want quotas in everything but sports. They’re such hypocrites. If they truly want quotas, I am for it. Let’s have it in both sports and government jobs.
Yeah, but he comes down with a life suspension. Kinda harsh, don’t you think?
Roger Goodell becoming an ex-Commissioner might be the only good thing to come out of this episode.
