Breaking -- because of new footage inside the elevator, Ravens have released Ray Rice.
Rice admitted to punching her. He claimed she was trying to hit him. In my mind, nothing changed with the release of this video. Whether she was trying to hit him or not is no excuse to knock her unconscious and then drag her out of the elevator like a sack of garbage. Very poor reflection on the team and the league.

if they didn’t cut him while the video surfaced then there’d be pressure...he’s gone so they won’t have to deal with it...

yeh right he didn’t see it....i was at the NFL combine in Indianapolis when the story broke and there were league people on site who saw the video and told others “its really bad”...

There were charges from what I’ve read but he got first offender treatment and was put into counseling.

You know, canning this guy seems a given. Then you think about the negative economic impact on his wife, and it’s not such a great idea.
Let the guy work. Her economic interests are at risk her too.
Find a way to punish him that doesn’t involve destroyer her in the process.
I’d say he’s going to prison for one thing...
How much alcohol did they both have to drink that night before the two started duking it out?
Now that his employment options have dimmed maybe she'll rethink the situation.
Truth be known, she was hitting him too, and she was charging him when he knocked her out. I would say a prosecutor has seen the video. I’m not saying what he did was right, but getting a conviction is a different matter.
Simple question, how will it help to impoverish his wife, who was the victim?
Shouldn’t he earn all the money for her he can, and it’s her responsibility to leave him if he’s violent?
Just thoughts, certainly there is no excuse for what he did.
Also I know she isn’t cooperating, but he could be criminally charged.
