Why is powerhouse LSU playing little ole Sam Houston State?

Houston area high school teams could beat Sam Houston.

Need home games to drive revenue to pay for all the title 9 sports. Sam Houston would not demand a home and home.

A lot of the big-name schools have been playing small-name schools this year. And in most instances, the small-name schools lost and lost massively.

Arkansas hasn't won an SEC game in a year and lost 45-21 to Auburn last week. Saturday, they played Nicholls State and won 73 to 7.

It does give these small-name schools an opportunity, but the resulting blow-outs would seem to be embarrassing.

This seems to be common for big time programs. The big program gets an easy warm up win. The weaker program, in return for a thrashing, gets ticket and television revenue they would never see otherwise plus the fans get to see a big name school play. It's actually not a bad deal for the weak football team unless they are so outmatched that they have lots of injuries.
