We could use a bunch of them around here.

Deers are running wild destroying bushes and dropping off those Lyme ticks.

And the Dems here keep approving more and more neighborhoods where the woods are (no more woods) making it worse and worse.

Need a few of those cats to feed on the deer,

Sounds like we should put a whole bunch of lions on the border.

Sorry for the kid, though. I hope he’ll be okay.

“I am not sure what the provocation was in this case.”

Note the Trough Feeder implies the victim “provoked” the attack. To quote Judge Posner, “That is blaming the victim with a vengeance”.

Please remember that this boy being attacked from behind while he was with a group of adults can in no way be seem as provoking that cat. The reason the Game Dept. Trough Feeder is making such wild statements is that he is worried, very worried indeed, that an enraged public will force closure of the cougar program

Why, that thoughtless lil’ brat could cost some deserving bureaucrats their funding. HORRORS!

State Department of Fish and Wildlife officials said the mountain lion attack was an isolated incident. As usual, they are liars. They knows full well that a similar attack occurred on a hiking trail above Boulder, CO. In that case, the six year old was holding his father’s hand when he was snatched.

The adults attacked the cougar and the boy was saved - injured, but survived.

When enviro-commies forced Americans to not kill predators, the predators assumed they were top predator.

Mr. Armed American differs. And, when an American can shoot an Urban Feral threatening him, there is no longer any justification for requiring a fellow American to suffer an animal attack.

When a threatening human can be shot, threatening animals most certainly can be shot.

When Mr. Gunpowder speaks, Mr. Cat obeys.

Keerful what Ya wish for - some bureaucrap in an agency wants to make a career of “reintroducing” large bodied predators. Yes, that AgencyPerson knows predators are about impossible to control and they are fearfully expensive, with most of that expense being salaries, of course.

Hunters, on the other hand, pay for the hunting, and are very discerning as to what they kill. No predator accepts what an AgencyPerson wants they to kill and eat. Hunters will not only kill what animals need culling, they pay to so do. Therefore, fire the AgencyPersons and sell some hunting permits.

PS Time for a recreational, non-commercial, permit for the taking of AgencyPersons - no bag limits, no minimum size, hunting with lights and dogs is encouraged, males, females, “blind, crippled, or crazy”.

I live near the woods in Maryland.

I largest predators I see are Foxes, and they take care of the mice, rats, etc

The Deers roam free and cause havoc, destruction and Lyme disease.

The county does allow controlled deerhunts (using bows) on their land each fall, one weekday per month. But its not enough.

The Woods here is being replaced by housing too fast.

“I am not sure what the provocation was in this case.”

Provocation does not enter the equation- 6yr old looks like food.
That his why early man killed these predators- to prevent 6yr olds from being food.

We have had 16 cat attacks since 1860 in California. They live alone most of the year. We have black widows and now rattle snakes that don't rattle. No one cares about these as you just look before you do anything. No one wants the big cats around till they get used to them.

“and now rattle snakes that don’t rattle”

Rattlers rattle when they feel threatened just because you walk up on one that’s not rattling doesn’t mean they don’t rattle.

So do I, in Mongomery County. Over twenty years of hiking and tracking in these woods I have seen bobcats, coyotes and feral dog packs. Black bears wander down every few years as well. But they are not enough to make a dent in the deer population. One of the problems is that so much land is under government controll precluding hunting, fueled by anti-hunting sentiments. NIST has a large campus with several herds totaling between 250-300 deer. A controlled hunt was stopped one time and a deer birth controll effort was suggested. I guess some gov-school graduates thought that years of rolling condoms over cucumbers gave them insight regarding breeding habits of deer.

Lions don’t mind the cold at all, lots up in northern Alberta. You’re never safe any time of year which is why you should always carry something.

Lions handle cold just fine. Live well up into Canada, high in the mountains, etc.

Let’s look at your premises, which I shall suggest are in need of revision.

1. Whether a predator is solitary, as a cougar or a social predator as are wolves and Urban Ferals, makes no difference to the prey.

2. As a quick review of the attacks would have shown, many predators kill by incapacating their prey and eating it alive, one bite at a time.

3. Your state animal is known for that, as are the wolves you seem more tolerant of than those who are forced by the “civilized” Urban Predators otherwise known as enviro-nutters and their AgencyPerson Fellow Travelers, all busily trough feeding at taxpayer expense.

4. Have you considered that forcing an American to quarter dangerous beasts on his land, or not shoot them before they attack him solely because you ‘like’ them, is placing your esthetic wishes above his property rights?

5. Far worse, forcing your aesthetic wishes upon those who disagree also imposes upon the unwilling a threat of great bodily harm, or a most grizzly(pun intended) death?

6. Which Constitutional Convention gave you such authority?

7. Before the rise of enviro-communism, to use its’ correct name, those who wanted large bodied predators bought land and kept such dangerous predators at their own expense.

8. Then, only the insane would claim they had the right to force such animals on others.

9. Now, the insane have taken over the nation.

10. The above points would appear to make a case for constitutional and societal devolution.

Are the “aesthetics” of large bodied predator reintroduction justifiable? Or is it merely communism disguised as environmentalism. Feel used, yet?

May I leave you with four quotes?

“The establishment of an American Soviet government will require the confiscation of large landed estates in both town and country, and the entirety of lakes, forests, rivers and mineral deposits”. William Z. Foster, National Chairman, Communist Party USA, 1932.

“The future of communism in America will be in the environmental movement.” Gus Hall, National Chairman, Communist Party USA.

“We reject the idea of private property” Peter Berle, President of National Audubon Society.

“Let’s be unreasonable. Let’s take it all.” Brock Evans, VP of National Audubon Society when Berle was president of National Audubon.

Boy? Born in Oregon in 1950 have hunted Oregon, Wyoming, Idaho, Alaska, Canada, Colorado and New Mexico and now have a ranch in West Texas. I’ve take 3 bears and 4 Mountain lions over the years. I’ll take my knowledge over yours.

You are correct. I was born in Oregon and hunted there. I live outside Sacramento where they have killed so many of the rattling rattle snakes that the ones that are left are quiet. Now you want to take Aerojets property. After dumping rocket fuel in our water supply, they imported thousands or snakes from all over. They just had to be rattling. We had a Mojave green cross canal to our plant.
