Wow. So many historical sites there...I would be in sensory overload. It would take me a couple of years to see all the things on my To-Do List of the British Isles.
Aren’t toadstools poisonous?
If I get an expensive pair of shoes, I can wear them for several years. The Walmart kind will last about two months, if I’m lucky.
Wouldn’t you know it? I’m still feeling poorly and Busdaddy wants to go to the Mob Museum today. I told him it ain’t gonna happen!
I managed to get a couple of things done early this morning (most people will laugh and say, “Big deal!” But to me it is and ENORMOUS Deal!) in trying to get my place more “user-friendly.” I’m going to give away one of the file cabinets, but keep the best of the two, so I got it moved next to the computer desk. I had to move the floor lamp over a couple of feet, but I just brought the other floor lamp to the other side of the desk so I have lighting on both sides.
Of course, re-filing and sorting are still on the list, but I’m hoping that I will feel better in the coming weeks and be able to get that done and get the bookcase in here before winter.
I actually accomplished more than I thought I would, giving how I felt when I woke up.
One of our North Carolina guys is in London right now, and he says they’re very blasé about the Scottish independence referendum.
Congratulations on your accomplishment! The Mob Museum will still be there when you’re feeling well enough to enjoy it.
I, for one, am of two minds...but if it’s better for Scotland in the long run, then I think it should be done.
There are many things to be worked out, of course, but independence is a very fine thing!
The best result to be obtained would have Scotland in the same relative position to Great Britain as Canada has to the United States.
Largest trading partner; peaceful border.
Now I need a bookend of some sort to hold the papers and things on the top shelf of my desk. The external hard drive is heavy enough to be used as one, but I need something for the other side.
I wish I knew when I was going to feel well enough to tackle large jobs. It would make my life so much easier. I’m in a bit of a “hurry” for this, as I need to get started on transcribing my journals and finishing my personal history.
But having a neat house is paramount to me feeling much better. With luck, tomorrow, I will have another load for the thrift truck. *happy dance!*
Do you have an unabridged dictionary? They’re useful bookends!
If I do, it is in one of the book crates outside. All the more reason to get the bookcase in here and get it filled!
I’m pretty sure I have one. I can’t imagine life without a comprehensive dictionary...
I wish I could borrow a kid for a week. Anybody’s kid would do, so long as they knew how to sort books.
I think Scotland has serious economic difficulties. It might not work out all that great as an independent country.
On the other hand, someone might dig a copy of “The Wealth of Nations” out of the library and do something clever with it.
I don’t suppose you have contacts with your local Catholic homeschooling association ...
Yep. I’m not the insignificant suburban homemaker I appear to be.
Had me worried, there.
No, and the other church resources seem to be dwindling, so I’m basically on my own, here. I can check to see if there is someone who wants to do a service project, but it may take a while to happen. Things go rather slowly when one is inactive in the church.
Nope, not poetry.
I would never have considered you an “insignificant suburban homemaker.” More like the fabled Super Mom!
Thank you!
Frank had an encounter with fire ants this afternoon. Fortunately, he doesn’t seem to have too many bites. It was mostly a shock.
Only a few of the Toadstools are actualy capable of killing, the rest will just make you very ill, or have a “trip”.
It is just fun looking for them on walks in the woods, see who can find the most species.
Historic monument overload is a common ailment for visitors to this living museum. :)
I’m sure fire ants would have a deadly effect on me. I will try to remember to bring my Epi-Pen when next I visit. Just in case.
Still, poor Frank!
