It all depends on the alcohol proof. 60% is nothing.

As a laboratory researcher, I would use 95% for disinfection purposes. We used gallons of the stuff every month.

Isopropanol and ethanol are interchangeable for disinfection purposes.

I'm not especially well informed on the topic of lab disinfection but reading Guideline for Disinfection and Sterilization in Healthcare Facilities taught me a little.
