Probably not...people don't understand that you're being kept alive by machines under anesthetic.....at 80 yrs old ‘the body ‘doesn't easily come out of it regardless of the one administering it.
My grandmother was older and sicker (diabetes, various cancers in the past), and had her hips replaced and did fine. It just depends on many things, I guess.
