The Story wasn’t about your Sister or about her being on Dialysis.
It was about an Old Woman who had the fortitude to hold on to Life until her last wish was granted.
My Aunt of 89 died last year after being on Dialysis for a Year. She was Blind and I took her to and from her Dialysis Treatments three times a week. I didn’t just drop her off, I stayed with her the entire time, a four hour process. I made sure my Work Schedule revolved around her Treatments.
Funny thing about my Late Aunt, she never felt sorry for herself, even losing her Sight to Glaucoma in her early 20’s.
I became very close to the other Patients and the Staff at the Dialysis Center and I still stop in to visit. I am also helping out an Older Woman there who lost her Daughter to Leukemia years ago. She has no close Family so I do what I can, including visiting with her during her Dialysis Treatments.
How about you appreciate the fact that your Sister is very fortunate to live in a day and age where Dialysis can keep her alive to live a relatively normal Life. If my experience with many people currently undergoing Dialysis, most do not feel sorry for themselves so no need for you to be offended for them.
I’m in the middle of Chemotherapy Treatment. If the story mentioned the Woman decided to forgo Chemo and go into Hospice, I wouldn’t take it personally. It would be cute and inspiring.
