He is entitled to a trial.

I escaped a relationship with a woman whose ability to lie was mindboggling. I watched her go to work destroying a member of her own family after an imagined insult and figured it was time to get my old redneck butt out of the line of fire.

Such horrible things happen. I have a relative it happened to.

False accusations of such things also happen, and I have a relative that happened to. It was a vindictive ex. He was acquitted at trial, and both his daughters eventually confessed they’d been pressured into making their statements by Mom. But his life was pretty thoroughly ruined by then.

The saddest part of these situations is that there is seldom really any evidence that would prove the case “beyond a reasonable doubt.” So juries tend to go by which witness if more believable and/or sympathetic. Usually the child.

The problem is that some children are liars, just like some adults are. Some people can tell truly believable lies, and others, in a stressful situation, can’t tell the truth in a way that people will believe.

All very sad.

When I was a teacher there was an English teacher accused by two female students of having sex with them....it went on most of the year with him being suspended. The Sheriff thought their story had some inconsistencies and brought them in for questioning and within an hour they admitted they made the whole thing up. The outrageous thing was up until then they had not been pressed on the inconsistencies of their story and the DA was going full speed ahead with his prosecution. This happened in 1998.

“Heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned, Nor hell a fury like a woman scorned”

What? Are you suggesting that the state, on behalf of an 11-year-old rape victim, has no justifiable complaint, due to female vindictiveness? Really?

Couldn’t POSSIBLY be false, right?

NOBODY gets falsely accused, let alone convicted in THIS country...

It will be interesting to see the outcome.

As I see it posted on FR all the time. “You can tell he’s guilty because of his eyes.”

Using his own words, "This, boys, is a game changer".

He was an idiot.

Don't put words in my mouth, prat. Of what 11 year old rape victim are you speaking? Are you suggesting that if you were sitting on the jury that you would not want proof of the charges? The state can complain about whatever it wants to and it often does. I guess you've never sat in a jury box and watched the prosecutors try to put the defendant on a boxcar out of town.

“She told investigators that Hayden took her virginity in March 2013 when she was 11-years-old.” They are not in the same age range.

Whenever they start the pompous name-calling, you know you’re over the target.

She is the daughter of his ex girlfriend and some are saying that she may be pressuring the daughter to testify this way in order to put pressure on him to settle another law suit...haven’t checked if there is another lawsuit filed by the ex yet.

I never did get a good “vibe” watching that show the entire family seemed a bit off to me. Stopped watching it after a season.

Some people just give off bad sense. The Harrison’s (on Pawn Stars) they’re likeable. They seem like good people (even if their show is staged).

These people not so much. They always seemed a bit creepy.

Even though I never liked the show, nor any of the cast members, I’m hoping he wouldn’t have done such a thing. I’ll be watching to see how this plays out.

first Barry now this..... although I couldn't stand Hayden. Keeping "reality tv" created drama in mind...all he did was sit around and yell at people for not working.
