Lol, another UFO scare.
This DOES come up every once in a while.

The military has TONS of flights, lessons and such down there in the deserts.

They said (Yes, we lived in Barstow, California, for a year and saw the US Air Force and Marines fly all over the skies down there.) that it was a perfect place to practice as it never rained, was close to the HUGE San Diego base and was almost totally empty.

The skies in Barstow, rather outside of Barstow in the open desert, were SO clear.

One could ALWAYS see the Milky Way and TONS AND TONS AND TONS AND TONS AND TONS AND TONS AND TONS AND TONS AND TONS AND TONS AND TONS AND TONS AND TONS AND TONS AND TONS of stars.

Or as Carl Sagan would says BILLLLLLLIONS AND BILLLLLLLIONS of stars...
