It’s not people so much as people’s relationship to technology. Having all the information in the world a search away has put us in a position where we don’t have to store as much information in our brain, so we don’t. Of course the less that’s in there the less you have to work with to make analysis and decisions. Eventually we’ll work with all this info differently.
Read an article once about millennials that made the point that they aren’t so much tech-savvy as they are tech-dependent. Take away the internet and their smartphones, and they’re helpless. It’s similar to a discussion I had once where the person I was talking to claimed another person was very independent. I answered that the person wasn’t independent, just very used to getting things her own way. Huge difference between those two things.
