No evidence at all. In fact, my favorite is when they shut down a Hole Foods, or a Panera Bread because the bean sprouts just gave everyone salmonella or shinghella.
I see it on the news every once in a while and I nearly spit-take my breakfast cereal (cocoa puffs, of course).
I grow my own sprouts, it is easy, healthy and cheap-all you are doing is germinating seeds of a food item to eat as seedlings. The ones at stores are not fresh or sanitary...
