COBB COUNTY, Ga. —

Cobb County police say a woman who stole a cruiser and sped down Interstate 75 last weekend was high on synthetic marijuana.

According to the newly released criminal warrant, Emmerli Wilcoxson drove the stolen cruiser on I-75 southbound beginning at Windy Hill Road. Police said she fled officers, failed to maintain her lane, drove at speeds exceeding 130 MPH and screamed into the police radio before finally causing a serious crash at the North Avenue exit in downtown Atlanta.

I would hope Laz has “High” enough standards to not hit it.

Sure, and people who drink alcohol never drive while intoxicated. Maybe we should try another Prohibition against alcohol since it worked so well the first time around.

Not in Atlanta. I have read that the synthetic stuff contains 15-20 times as much THC as a joint. Not sure why anyone would want to get that high.

Not legal for sale in GA. That doesn’t mean you can’t mail order for it.

I'd be more interested in what else is in it besides canabinoids. This chick was driving 130 miles per hour.

"Sure, and people who drink alcohol never drive while intoxicated. Maybe we should try another Prohibition against alcohol since it worked so well the first time around."

It actually worked really well the first time, with a few exceptions.

However, where it wasn't strongly enforced, it lined the pockets of organized crime. And eventually during the great depression it was repealed to allow the government to reap the tax revenue.

The opposite extreme is to legalize even the hard drugs like LSD and Heroin, and super addicting drugs like the Chicago crack that if you survived the first hit you were addicted. Most people don't want complete legalization. We're just arguing over where to draw the lines.

Prohibition gave us the Kennedy crime family.

“Synthetic Pot” is sort of a misnomer because it’s really unrelated to the real thing. It’s really just an arbitrary mix of substances and chemicals that varies from location to location, with many (most?) of the ingredients being poisonous/toxic to one degree or another.

Know a guy that this stuff messed up pretty badly.

Normally laid back, he went on a rampage, that ended with four cops needed to take him under control.

This stuff can be wicked on some people.

The prohihition era was also known as the "roaring twenties" a time of unparalleled economic advance.

And we've had several other economic booms when alcohol was legal. FAIL.

Church attendance per capita hit an all time high.

Seems like a stretch to jump from this correlation to a cause-and-effe3ct relationship.

However, where it wasn't strongly enforced, it lined the pockets of organized crime.

Was there anyplace in the USA where it didn't line the pockets of organized crime?
