I read the first 50 responses but time is short. Here are my suggestions.

1. Live near a VA Hospital? See if you can volunteer to prepare and/or serve disabled veterans;

2. Ask your pastor to help you to develop a list of mobile members of your church who are also alone. Eat, enjoy and thank God together for all the blessings He bestows. Make your gusts your honorary family. I bet some women without family nearby would want to contribute their talents and experience to preparing the meal. You will also wind up with new close friends. You will spend a lot less than $2000 and you can make a contribution to a good cause with some of the savings.

3. Invite worthy college students who cannot afford to go home for Thanksgiving. Ask campus ministries to arrange for such guests. Invite the priest or minister for that matter and get some professional help thanking God.

Best of luck. May God bless you and yours!
