The fact that the cop pulled the trigger at least six time doesn’t surprise me. The fact that he hit him six times does.

The fact it took six shots to drop an adrenaline pumped man doesn’t surprise me either.

the first 4 shots only hit the guys arms, which is why he didn't go down. Officer thought he might be dealing with a PCP situation and switched to the two head shots to stop the advance. The 2nd head shot apparently hit him on the way down and thus the top of the head entry.

I’ve been told by CCW instructors that if your life is *truly* in jeopardy and you can’t retreat, you empty the gun into the attacker. And carry a spare mag.

If a younger man that large is coming at you full speed and intending a beat down, you’d be a fool not to consider your life at risk.

I’m 63 yo 180 pounds and if an 18yo that big comes after me with the intent to pound me into the pavement, it’s a death threat. How long does anyone thing I’d survive getting my head stomped on?

Life is not the movies. People are crippled and killed by aggressors without weapons. And the “shoot to wound” scene we see in the movies is utter BS. Under those circumstances you’re lucky to get the majority of your shots in the body mass. Aiming for the leg or arm will get you killed very quickly.

Finally, how should we judge the state of mind of a very large and aggressive unarmed man that *returns* & charges an armed police officer? There are recorded incidents where 6 .45 rounds into the perp doesn’t stop them.
