"This to me means Brown was running away"

There is no evidence that Brown was running away (with his back to the officer) when he was shot. There is evidence that the officer was in a scuffle, that Brown broke loose, started to flee, was ordered to stop, and then charged the officer again, his 300 pounds getting closer and closer to the officer as the first shots did not bring him down.

That’s OK.

Got several FREEPMails telling me it’s not possible to have an intelligent debate with you.

I’ll take their advice.

I think we can agree that the multiple narratives on this event concur that the struggle took place in the police car while the shooting took place well away from the police car. The struggle, which supposedly justifies the shooting, was over and done when the final shots were fired. And, so far as I know at the moment, no shots were fired inside the police car. This to me means Brown was running away and that Wilson had control of his firearm when the first shot, subsequent shots, and the last shot were all fired. The autopsy reports (both of them so far) do not mention any tattooing from powder as you'd see with someone who was shot at close range, especially with regards to the shots to the bare arm. Officer Wilson has some explaining to do. I won't rush to judgment, but I'm just saying that the facts in the story are not exactly lining up with the official narrative.

So.

The coroner observing NO gunshots to the back, ALL gunshots to the front of Michael Brown's corpse... that doesn't even slow you down.

I guess those were those cool special U-turn bullets. No! I know! The cop RICOCHETED them off the sidewalk!

And we ALL know that the cop fractured his own face, to add credence to his story.

You’d be amazed at how well I respond to questions about things I’ve actually written on FR. But those “so you’re saying” comments where someone tries to get me to defend something I never said? Yeah, I can be a real bitch about those.

I’ve only been interested in the material facts of the case to the extent that the ‘official narrative’ changes as information comes out. Granted, as facts arise my perception of what occured has changed. However, I do not get situational amnesia and act as if these facts were always known. Yet the official narrative has changed in both subtle and substantive ways over the last week and a half and I’m left to wonder at it.

I’m also left to wonder at the way people on FR initially responded to the militarized SWAT teams in Ferguson. It was just a few months ago I was with the majority opposing the militarized and heavy-handed cops at the Bundy Ranch. Now that I’m in the minority on this topic I’m still opposed to militarized and heavy-handed cops.

Because we do not need paramilitary police in a free republic.
