Media stirring about a "purge" tonight, based on last year's movie "The Purge" which depicted a scheduled period where all crime was legal for 12 hours. With the Ferguson events deflating as the "good boy" starts appearing not so much after all, those looking for an excuse to continue recent rioting (for rioting's sake) may be leveraging the confluence of news & entertainment into real life.
actually 51, I just saw it for free on Comcast on Demand Cinemax free preview. Wow that movie was scary but shows how important to be armed to the hilt.
It's actualy one of the most profitable movies of all time.
From Wiki: Despite mixed reviews, the film grossed $89,328,627 during its run, far surpassing its $3 million budget.
Or only pass laws that affect the law-abiding.

Wasn’t the backdrop of the Purge about a USA that had a 1.5% unemployment rate and the lowest crime rates ever in history because of the Purge, and good guys fought back against the criminals?
Sounds like a good tactic to me for 12 hours as long as it reduces the population of thugs in this nation.
Out of one side of their mouths, they say that movies don't influence people, then out of the other, the likes of Meathead says he'll remove smoking from his movies, and Spielberg removes guns from E.T., both stating they don't want to send the wrong message.
The marxists would like a race/civil war. More power to be had.

I saw it recently when Cinemax had a free weekend. It was very disturbing, but it also showed how stupid liberalism is. The protagonists in the movie would have been fine if they hadn’t let the homeless guy into their home in the first place.

Let us hope authorities stop this ‘fad’ before it turns into another nationwide ‘knock-out’ series.

Purge, the 2013 thriller movie starring Ethan Hawke and Lena Headey was terrifying enough. Depicting a near-future America in which, for one night out of the year, violent crime of all kinds becomes legal, The Purge has inspired more than a few nightmares no matter its apparent implausibility.
According to a wide range of local social media, however, some are talking of an all-too-real “purge” right here in Louisville, to take place beginning at 8:30 p.m. Friday August 15 to 6:00 a.m. Saturday August 16, and police have taken the threats very seriously. Though many would peg the notices as a large-scale, frightening prank, nerves are on edge across Louisville’s social media.
