He was trying to take the weapon from the cop if you believe the cop. We can’t believe cop because he was white. All cops must be black.
Even the black witnesses state he was in the car fighting with the cop. That part of the story seems to jell.
Why should we automatically believe the cop regardless of race? He shot and killed exactly half the number of people who know what really happened. His butt is on the line. You don't think he has an incentive to slant the story to his favor?
