The clouds were thin and Jupiter was shining through them, for the most part. The ring around the moon was due to forward scattering, which produced the colors. It was a fascinating view and I took dozens of shots, as the scene shifted every few seconds with the movement of the clouds. Trying to capture time in bottle!
