I supplied back up N6 oil to Maytag from time to time, so I was in their office and power plant occasionally.

They hired a new president who'd never lived in a more or less rural town like Newton. He refused to live there and commuted from Des Moines.

They ran a contest for their Hoover vacuum business in the UK, with the grand prize being a two week vacation in Paris. Someone caught the confused wording and a judge ordered Maytag to give everyone who bought a Hoover the two week vacation. Blimey !
