Not that you have to buy from them but I would first go into Lowes and Home Depot and see what avocado tree varieties they sell. East Coast selections are different than California selections in these stores. Plus avocados ripen all different times of the year. So no sense in buying two diff verities that ripen same time. Then some are more suited to pot culture if this your plan.

But....
Every fruit tree can be (intelligently) pruned and cultured to fit the space you have. When you plant them too close together you get a hedge effect which some people like. You can make a citrus hedge if yours are still in pots and space is at a premium.

Plant the smaller and less pretty fruits on your perimeter where they are less likely to be stolen. As in a tree that bears nice huge avocados (Fruit size differs from variety to variety) planted by the sidewalk are an invitation to theft unless you have a fence. Then if some of the tree branches+fruits droop over the fence you can write off people stealing a few. Not a big deal

A generalization-— There are avocado varieties that ripen in each season. Summer, winter, fall spring. For me I think cold month avocados make the most sense because we like more fat in those months. Heavier foods in general
