As we await word that Quinn and Rose are returning soon, - and it looks like something is in the works - our friendly group of dedicated FReeper Q&R fans will continue to meet in our usual spot as we always have! So grab your coffee - or whatever you choose to start your day - and drop in for some political chit-chat, or just to shoot the breeze! We are all coming from - or going to - work, but we all stop in to say ‘hi!’ Feel free to join us!
We have to wait and see. Since Andy Deen is leaving (quitting radio)in a few weeks there would be a late spot open. Quinn has said he and Rose are going to WJAS. What is WPGB running in hte evening? They did have a sports show on for awhile. Bloomy might fit in there.

FWIW the book is EXCELLENT. Sort of a collection of his home movies of the mind.
Just got back to the office and listening to WPGB. You’re right, they did not say what time Bloomdaddy would be on.
Not to rattle anyone but remember a few days ago I wondered why Jim has been SO quiet about things? Nothing leaked, no hints. Both he and Rose had said they would keep The Faithful informed and TF would be the first to know.
So far nothing.
Could the deal have fallen through?
Maybe Iorio wouldn’t match Q&R salary....

….At 12:00 Noon, WJAS flipped to talk from the new owners facility.
It is currently simulcasting Rush Limbaugh with 104.7FM (with an accompanying message ‘stay tuned for an important announcement concerning WPGB / 104.7.’ I am told that announcement will happen at 3:00pm this afternoon.
So, I’m confused. Pardon me if I didn’t follow all the discussion closely.
Is WJAS owned by the same company as WPGB? Is it an affiliate station, or are they just cooperating with the transition?

Just checked the WJAS website. I see it is “under construction”.
Just saw posted on the WPGB website that all of the talk lineup is moving to WJAS (including BloomingIdiot) Tuned into 1320 and they’re already broadcasting there. WPGB has message they’re promoting big announcement at 3:00
On the Facebook group I’m in, someone said that Q&R are going to WJAS.....I sure hope that’s true. Now, depending on any new contracts, etc, Q&R may not have been allowed to make any announcements. Thanks to p6 for all the tidbits :)
AMAZINGLY Iorio DOES NOT own the website! That is a Renda domain so we still own and maintain it! Not only that but the WJAS Facebook page IS A PRIVATE Facebook account owned by an employer and NOT tied into WJAS or Renda! Iorio Does not get that either!
Tying to listen on my radio but true to form the WJAS signal has somehow deteriorated.
I’m thinking Bloomy may be on at first because it was the easiest thing to do. The new station needs studios built. They haven’t moved the control boards or main computers from our building yet so Bloomy may have to be on until that is done.

So it seems...that COULD change though. It might be that the new owner had to put so much into the station he didn’t have enough to fund Q&R. That is a stretch ...
It is SO ODD that there hasn’t been ANYTHING on warroom or in Quinn’s tweets...
With the seeming animosity of CC towards Quinn...that could be why it wasn’t announced. Let’s keep our fingers crossed (& toes too).
FWIW I haven’t listened to WPGB since Q&R left. Don’t miss Rush and the others BUT I SURE AS HECK MISS Q&R!!!!!
Me either, except for when scanning stations & it landed there. I do miss Q&R - and my Mom does too.

Update 8/7: 104.7 WPGB is moving its current Talk programming to Frank Iorio’s 1320 WJAS Pittsburgh. WPGB is currently running sweepers in between their Talk programming promoting a special announcement at 3pm today. Among the sweepers heard, “The future of 104.7 is going to be a big hit. Details at 3:00 today.” and “Pittsburgh’s new talk radio 1320 AM is now the home for all your favorite talk hosts. Catch Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck on the AM dial at 1340 – your new #1 preset. Stay tuned for a special announcement on the future of 104.7 today at 3:00.”
