All states treat professional athletes that way. Professional athletes have some thick tax returns because they work is so many different states.
That said, NY is aggresive. Currently fighting a multi-year tax bill with them. They just made up numbers and sent a bill even though we do not do business in NY.
We had one employee who lived in NY but worked in PA. For that privilege they say we owe them $20 grand.
CA taxes sport players from other States whenever they play a game there.
Only the little people pay taxes!
I thought liberals loved taxes...high taxes on the ultra rich.....
Taxes are for the “Little People.”
Also all the illegals, New York is getting swamped by them now.

I am tickled to pieces whenever a lib gets bitten by their own putrid socialist redistribution policies.
This is why so many corporations are moving their headquarters to Ireland or other off shore locations. The tax implications for people who can afford to hire $500/hour lawyers and tax accounts are just too much to ignore
This is along the same lines as John Kerry keeping his new sailing yacht in RI and Mass coming after him for the taxes they thought he owned them. They try this with everybody.
My father in law about ten years back used to keep his sailboat in Boston/Charlestown harbor in the winter. This was NOT a big boat. It was a 30’. The state of Mass tried to say he was a part time resident because he kept his boat there 6 months a year.
He’s not very patriotic
“I want to be exempt from the taxes I support”
If this company was based in New York, or operated in New York then it is fair game. Heck if the sale took place in New York he might owe sales taxes.
apparently if you visit NY for a day and do work, you owe them income taxes for that day or something
I have heard that if you go to work an overseas job that you must never leave from New York but instead fly out of Houston.
wow
I thought he said we were not taxed enough.
I guess it was just another looney tooney liberal. After all, they all think alike.
