The Expendables 3 is gearing up to charge into theaters with a sprawling, testosterone-fueled cast that includes Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dolph Lundgren, Wesley Snipes, Randy Couture, Harrison Ford, Kelsey Grammer, and Antonio Banderas. But could the future of this franchise be female?
The idea of an "Expendabelles" movie has been floating around for a while now, but at the London premiere of The Expendables 3, Stallone suggested who he'd like to see star. None too surprisingly, he named Sigourney Weaver. However, how he suggests she'd fit into the franchise is a little less than inspiring.
THR reports that Stallone proposes Weaver play his onscreen ex-wife, who maybe in the divorce won the estrogen-producing half of his team. "So she'd get the house, the kids and my mercenaries!" he offered.
Stallone also said, "With The Expendabelles, weve got a situation where were in unchartered waters. Do we put all women actresses together? Would that really work? Or do we have some women who are actually really known to be tough fighters."

Linda Hamilton still had a good edge when she was in Chuck a few years back. Not up to her T2 Sarah Connor days, but still looked like she could and would kick a**, if needed.
Her specialty could be making sandwiches and bringing cold beers.
Well they would HAVE to include Pamela Anderson (aka: Barbarella). She could provide the balance for Sigourney......
See Helen Mirren in the “Red” movies.
On threads like this, I wish we had an “up” arrow button!
Yes Hamilton was very good, and is a natural. Loved her in Beauty and the Beast.
But again, there are virtually none, and those there are hardly have any career.
I’ve read that “Ghostbusters 3” is likeky being scrapped with a remake of the original being done, instead, with female ghost busters.
Apparently, Hollywood thinks that right now is a really good time to produce movies with strong female characters.
I wonder why that might be?
Surprisingly Sandra Bullock does pretty well with toughness. More believable in comic situations than action movies with Demi Moore.
I don’t know ... you get Weaver, Hamilton and Brigitte Nielsen (assuming she’d work in anything associated with Stallone), then tack on Scarlett Johansen and Zoe Saldana (but that might completely wreck the budget), and maybe Michelle Rodriguez to appeal to the younger crowd ...
Did you hear about how Mirren, in full Queen Elizabeth II attire, stormed out of a London performance of “The Queen” and went full ghetto on a bunch of very noisy and disruptive gay rights activists that were marching past the theater?
Honor Blackman and Diana Rigg are still alive, although I think their kicking has suffered a bit.
Katee Sackhoff is pretty tough. Also she likes guns in real life too.
He has lost his mind!
Gina Lolabrigida, Elke simmer and Jayne Mansfield could do cameos
They’re shooting T5 in San Fran the last few days or nights anyway
Like a bad migraine, Rnoid is bock.
When are these old worn out guys my age going to realize the gig is up for their macho movies!
