There are a lot of interesting cross-genre musical groups out there right now. Metalachi is another example, but they take metal in a more southerly direction. It's like Judas Priest blended with Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass.
And then there's David Lee Roth's recording of Van Halen's "Jump" from a few years ago - bluegrass style.
