A new book about New York Yankees' third baseman Alex Rodriguez's use of performance-enhancing drugs throughout his career includes revelations about another sports superstar: Tiger Woods.

Released Tuesday, Blood Sport: Alex Rodriguez, Biogenesis and the Quest to End Baseball’s Steroid Era, co-authored by Tim Elfrink of the Miami New Times and Gus-Garcia Roberts of Newsday, claims that the Canadian sports doctor Anthony Galea who treated Rodriguez also visited Woods 14 times between January and August 2009 and charged Woods a total of $76,012 as he recovered from knee surgery following his 2008 U.S. Open victory. Previous reports had identified only four or five visits.

In 2011, Galea pled guilty to smuggling human growth hormone and other drugs into the United States to treat professional athletes. Both Woods and Galea have said that Woods only received only legal platelet-rich plasma therapy from Galea.

The book also reports that according to the Florida Department of Health, Dr. Mark Lindsay, an associate of Galea's who also treated Rodriguez, visited Woods' 49 times from September 2008 to October 2009 and charged Woods' $118,979.

Yes. And all those other athletes who were putting up unbelieveable numbers in their sport for four or five years and then suddenly had to retire from injuries; this seems to explain a lot about Tiger. What a disgraceful cheat, if true.

If I wasn’t totally over Tiger before reading this, I am now.

As I posted earlier, Tiger brought on the demise of his knee during the 2008 Open playing against Rocco Mediate, who was no threat to Woods’ status. Game went 91 holes. All of which Tiger played on a knee so painful he couldn’t help wincing and limping. I watched all 91 holes and knew he was wrecking that knee. He did. Hasn’t been the same since.

Stupid egomaniacal jerk couldn’t leave the game because of his severe knee pain. Noooooo, he had to WRECK the knee. I lost respect for him then and if there was a shred left, this article killed it.

Go Rory!

No wonder all the injuries......PLAYING GOLF???!!!

Yeah, playing golf. Many players suffer from repetitive stress injuries in their necks, backs and joints. And they take care of them with chiropractors, surgery, all kinds of non-steroid methods.

After going bogey, double-bogey, ho-hum par, then a 300+ yard drive on the last hole before throwing in the towel, sitting at 4 over for the tourney, cue the drama queen and quit with a whimper-limper scene to elicit sympathy for his "courage".

Maybe if he is a no-show for this week's PGA I might change my mind, spasms? really?, but been there, seen that, when he does his drama queen-sympathy begging routine.

Well, well. Guess who had a miraculous recovery? 10 shots behind leader after Saturday is my bet for drama queen appearance.

I posted “Tiger is the Lance Armstrong of golf.” on the Golf.com article but they keep deleting it.

Like obamatollah, Tiger has his guarddog/lapdog presstitutes.

Methinks you are correct. Tied for 109th after 1st round.

What is your best guess for when he starts grimacing and wincing? I'm thinking early back 9.

Talking heads already making excuses for him, "Well, he just needs more reps. He's only played a few rounds since he returned."

Tiger tees off at 2:35. By that time..he’ll know that he needs to shoot a 56 to make the cut...So..I say that he doesn’t even tee off...we’ll start hearing report about his back pain about 1PM...and on the practice range..he’ll be wincing and grimacing..
