My grandfather commuted/worked until he was 92, and lived to be 94. He drank with others and smoked a pipe and cigarettes.

His “secret” was eating what he needed, and no more; tomatoes, lentils, an occasional steak, and what hosts served him when out for dinner — always in small portions. He ate very few carbohydrates; one small piece of toast with butter was about the most.

He lived long and healthy.
