Need to improvise a website. Any advice for quick and easy ways to learn to do this, is appreciated.

I've been a web developer for over 15 years and the only "quick and easy" method that I'm aware of are freebie sites like WIX.
On the other hand, if you already know HTML, CSS, javascript, etc., and have graphics skills (e.g., Photoshop), maybe you just need a free template to modify for your own use.

Either go on codecademy.com and learn HTML,CSS, and bootstrap. Or use wix.com and you can do it easily too.

Another vote for Word Press. Easy enough for beginners, robust enough that advanced users can make complex sites. Check out the ready made templates, some of them free, some of them are for sale. You should be able to find a template that will do most of the work for you.

Many hosts offer Drag and Drop templates for designing
your own website. You can also add HTML if you feel bold
enough to go there. I created my own and also learned enough
HTML to customize the site for my company. 6-Months learning curve.

I use Weebly Drag and Drop for my site. Small learning curve
but some HTML will be needed. All have tutorials and phone help.

The drag and drop is the easiest. Watch who you hire if you go that
route. I've been ripped off which is why I decided to learn for myself.
Also READ that contract if you hire somebody to design a site for you
because in some cases they may actually own your site even though you paid
them to create it for you. I detest those people who hide legalese in contracts.

I strongly disagree about Wordpress. It is not beginner friendly.
In fact, it can be a nightmare for most beginners causing frustration.

I second Weebley. A near perfect solution for one who doesn’t want to become a web monkey. Look at iPage.

Yes, Weebly is the best I’ve used. I run 3 websites using Weebly. Their help is fantastic, too. I tried Wix and Drupal Gardens and just a few others and Weebly is tops for being user friendly especially if you have no experience with building sites or do not know html, etc. Let us know how you make out.

The only basic HTML needed to run and build a Weebly site is the same
HTML coding we use here in our simple every day posts. Spacing,
line breaks, pics, etc. I spent a long time researching other alternatives
before finally settling on Weebly for it's ease of use.

I will not post a link to my site (anon is best from RAT attacks) but I do
get comments for my site about it's speed and user friendly build. Most of the curve
was setting up Adwords and other internal coding including bots. No tricks though,
cheating can get a site banned from advertisers.
