Meghan McCain: No more Sarah Palin

Meghan McCain won’t be tuning into the Sarah Palin Channel any time soon.

“I am not going to subscribe to Sarah Palin’s $9.95 per month,” McCain said on Monday during her Pivot show TakePart Live. “I got all the Sarah Palin I need for one lifetime.”

Palin, the 2008 running mate of McCain’s father Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), announced Sunday that she will be starting her own Internet television news channel, the Sarah Palin Channel.

“This is a news channel that really is a lot more than news,” Palin said in a video posted to Facebook on Sunday. “This is a community where we’re going to be able to share ideas and discuss the issues of the day. And we’re going to find solutions.”

After browsing the channel’s website, McCain was less than impressed.

“I don’t know how this is different than a blog with video posts,” McCain said. “It didn’t look like a video channel. Glenn Beck has the Blaze, which is an actual channel you can turn to on television.”

I have had my fill of a deluded POW, and his daughter

It took me awhile...it did, but I've had enough, too. Sure, the POW cred kept me from calling him a complete jackass, but that's done. I have even begun to privately question some of the "first hand" accounts and stories of that time.

It just floors me that; someone who supposedly acted that honorably could be so acquiescent in this countrys' demise.

Like I say, it's just my private belief.

Meghan McCain has the vocabulary and intellectual reach of a Valley Girl. It is not clear whether she is more remarkable for her obtuseness or her obesity. She claims national attention only because she is the daughter of John McCain, the granddaughter of an admiral and the great granddaughter of an admiral. She has achieved nothing herself on her own merit.

In view of these limitations, one might think that Meghan McCain would refrain from cattiness especially against those who have remained loyal to her father when disloyalty to her father was more than deserved. If her relationship to her father grants her a microphone, decency in the use of that microphone at least requires that she respect those relationships rather than turning on them for her own personal advantage.

Winston Churchill once said of Clement Atlee, "he is a very modest man and he has much to be modest about." Meghan McCain has much to be modest about but lacks even this ameliorating character trait which might grant her some forgiveness for her lack of basic decency.
