Yes I do because a major portion of the money made off of the sales of the book is actually Venturas. He has lost his earning potential and Ventura has a family also. Do some research and I think you will find the publisher is the one who is really on the hook for the damages. The book earned 6 mil and the jury awarded 1.8 to Ventura, a pretty small sum considering Ventura will NEVER clear his name of this lie. The Widow is not going to be destitute as she will still reap most of the benefits from the sale of the book and possible movies deals etc.
Check out some of the video interviews with Jessie before the trial. The man was clearly destroyed by these allegations and it has been reported he made an offer to kyle and the publisher to clear the air for free and drop the case but they refused.
Things may have been completely different if the book would have claimed he just punched Ventura but when it was said on national television that Ventura said the SEALS need to lose a few, it left Ventura no choice but to seek to clear his name of this lie.
I am confused, but that is because I have not looked into the minutiae of this story. I never heard about this altercation prior to Chris Kyle’s murder. Why did Chris Kyle punch Ventura? I did read on here yesterday that Kyle said to drop the Ventura story from his book, but the publisher wanted to leave it in.
Ventura looks like a doofus no matter what. And a real jerk.

The man is not stable. The man is not honorable. If he was “destroyed” by the allegations, as you maintain, then he needs professional help.
