The wannabe relied with some fake MOS, and the Freeper said, "Cool, so you were a space shuttle door gunner?!"
and the fake nodded "YES!"

I love it when I get a begger on the street asking for "spare change for a vet."

Me: You a vet?
Yes I am!
Me: What branch?
Army. (They always get a branch of the military right. Seems most of them say Army. Never hear AF or Navy for some reason.
Me: Where did you go to basic? (This is where they start squirming.)
Fort something or other (They will often give the name of the nearest base. That base NEVER hosted basic training)
Me: I didn't know they had basic there?!?
Back when I was in they did.
Me: What unit were you in?
Umm, errr. (I was in B-19-4. That was in 1985)
Me: Who was your Drill Sergeant? (Or insert appropriate service terminology)
Errr, uhhh, I forgot. (Really? Mine were Drill Sergeants Noles and Fizer. Fizer was the hard one.)

I then tell them they aren't a Vet and if they don't beat it I'm calling the cops.

If they peace together a credible story I'll buy them a meal. Those are rare.
