There is absolutely nothing Christian about this kind of forgiveness. Se can do it if she wishes, that’s her right. But nothing in Scripture supports it unless the two thugs truly repent and ask her for it.

“...unless the two thugs truly repent and ask her for it.”

Those two punk-ass n-words will axe forgiveness as the needles are being pushed into their arms. Not until.

"But nothing in Scripture supports it unless the two thugs truly repent and ask her for it."

This is not true. Jesus forgave people even as they were torturing Him to death, with no indication in the Gospels that they had repented. And Stephen forgave them who were stoning him to death. Again, no indication that they had repented.

This does not mean "Everything's OK" and as Pope Benedict XVI said, "Forgiveness is not a substitute for justice." Even the repentant "thief" who was crucified next to Jesus, said he himself deserved the punishment for what he had done, and he got it. Jesus did not miraculously release this man from his cross, even though he DID repent.

What these two murderers did was deserving of hell. The fact that this good Christian woman forgave them, does not change that.

Yes, the idea they you must forgive everyone is ludicrous. You forgive those that repent and ask for forgiveness.

dING DING we have a winner. We are not called to hate so most of the vitriol on this thread is disgusting. We are called to forgive... those who ask and repent. But with holding forgiveness for repentance is not the same as being hateful. These two are in no less need of Gods grace than ANY of us.
