A Missouri woman has finally been able to break her rental lease after learning that her home was used as a torture chamber by a suspected serial killer over a decade ago.

Maury Travis hanged himself while he was being held in jail in 2002 but police now believe that he killed between 12 and 20 women, many of whom died in the basement of his Ferguson, Missouri, home.

Part of the false MSM narrative is that all serial killers are white males. In fact, 20%+ are black, such as in this case.

According to some sources, the percentage of serial killers who are African American is estimated to be between 13 and 22 percent.[75][76] Another study has shown that 16 percent of serial killers are African American, what author Maurice Godwin describes as a “sizeable portion”.[77] However, the 2013 Radford/FGCU Serial Killer Database annual statistics show, for the decades 1900–2010, that the percentage of African American serial killers is 40.7%

I wonder if the realtor knew it was stigmatized property.

Irrelevant. Rental. Many don’t even use realtors for that. Not that they have to tell them anyway.

I don’t blame the woman, but the first sentence makes it sound as if she was fishing for a reason to break lease anyway. Of course, apparently she was only there 3 months.

I have to wonder how that Radford study identifies someone as a serial killer, since he includes killers with as few as two victims and gives, among the motives, “financial gain” and “gang related.” Someone who shoots a couple of rival drug dealers doesn’t really constitute a serial killer in most people’s minds.

The landlady certainly knew it was stigmatized property. She was the mother of the serial killer.

That alone should void any lease.

Depends to a considerable extent on your definition of “serial killer.”

Realtors don’t have to disclose a death in a house.

"Realtors don’t have to disclose a death in a house."

I believe they do in Texas.

Exactly! Thanks for checking that over. Sorry, killing 2 doesn’t mean either serial or mass murder.

They are thugs and careless killers, but not necessarily conspiratorial evil geniuses with a plan.

I still say most likely white male in both mass and serial killings. REAL anyway.

Serial killers are often portrayed on TV and in movies as evil geniuses, but few of them are.

They are hard to catch because they generally prey on people who just aren't missed, and because there is generally little to connect them to any of their victims.

I wonder if the realtor knew it was stigmatized property.

I heard a story about a lawyer for a guy accused of killing his wife. When the defendant couldn't come up with the fee, the lawyer agreed to take his house in lieu of cash. The guy was found guilty, and the lawyer moved into a perfectly fine house — at least after the living room rug was replaced.

It’s just a figure of speech, grasping at a description.

They most certainly are devious, or else they would not get far. It’s not just choice of victim, though that certainly helps (that requires sone thinking). They tend to hide everything, from abducting someone to burying them, etc.

That is one of the requirements for “serial killing” - being devious and not making the killing public at all.

The DC Snipers are a curious case, not quite fitting either what should be mass killing or serial, but some combo. Never mind the fact there were more than 1.

“I wonder if the realtor knew it was stigmatized property.”

The sad part is that apparently there is a term for it.
