A Gay Blood Drive Day will be held on Friday, to protest the continuing blanket ban on gay and bisexual men donating blood in the US.
The Food and Drug Administration currently imposes a blanket ban on donating blood for all men who have had sex with men, because of the “increased risk” of sexually transmitted diseases.
The ban was initially put in place in the 1980s following the AIDS epidemic, and critics say it does not reflect modern advances in screening technology However, they have faced calls to implement a system that reflects actual risk, as opposed to discriminatory risk.

I can understand this, the more people infected with AIDS, the more powerful the sexual deviants’ agenda will become. Especially once the “openly gay” homosexuals and “bisexuals” start pumping their blood into “the children”.
Are you sure you can bank your OWN blood? We were told that blood banked for “you” just goes into the “pool.”
Those pushing for it should volunteer on the spot for a transfusion of ‘gay’ blood.

The blood bank is responsible to ensure your blood is transferred to the hospital blood bank the day of surgery.
You are told if your blood is not needed during surgery and you do not need it post-op that it would remain in the hospital blood supply for general use.

I’m excluded because I was stationed in Germany more than thirty years ago, 1981-83. The window of exclusion is 1980-1990 and it still hasn’t been lifted.
I later got back in the military & was giving blood right after 9-11 until this poppycock Mad Cow disqualifier was imposed. Felt silly lining up with everyone in my unit at the bloodmobile & then getting turned away, no Coke or cookies for you, pal.

These people are so sick, and their illness is so deeply ingrained within them, that they aren’t satisfied with having a horrible incurable disease among their own. No the goal is to spread it everywhere. To babies, children, the infirm, everybody.

I am not sure if an IV drug user blood drive is that much better than male queers. Male homos don’t have a close second to being the #1 vector for human infectious and antibiotic resistant microbes.

You are not alone. I also lost a high school friend who had hemophilia. He had a transfusion and was doing great for about 3 months. Then he disappeared from class in the spring of our senior year. Just after graduation, I got a call to be one of his poll bearers. All of this transpired in a period of about 7 months. That was 1961. They didn’t know what to call it back then. Their diagnosis was that his immune system suddenly collapsed.
I’m late in seeing these replies. I hurriedly wrote that. The point I was trying to make is that the gay lifestyle is inherently risky for diseases like AIDS. Even if someone like Shilts claims to be monogamous, he is at risk from all of his previous partners and all of their partners etc.
I just know that he seemed to disapprove of the San Francisco bathhouse tradition of anonymous sex. That’s why the disease spread so rapidly in the gay community (plus anal sex is much more likely to result in semen interacting with the blood than straight vaginal sex).
I don’t have a problem with excluding them and agree that monogamy in that community is rare. If I get bored with my wife, I could go to a bar but chances are against me hooking up with someone right away. If a gay man is decent looking, they’ll have no problems hooking up with a complete stranger.
