When I saw the first appearance of the Ferengi on Star Trek Deep Space Nine I knew that the series had been taken over by adamant Leftists.

The Ferengi as first portrayed were more pirates than merchants. They high jacked ships and sold their booty for “Profit”.

To use the word ‘profit’ in the context of the fictional Ferengi is simply anti-capitalist propaganda. Real Profit is the advantageous gain or return on a transaction between two consenting individuals in which each receives benefit.

While I enjoy the nearly all of the Star Trek series the obvious Ferengi political ploy in the series grates on my nerves.

However I must say that Dennis Jensen’s portrayal of Al Gore as a Ferengi is appropriate. As he says Al Gore “would do anything and say anything for a buck”.
