Enter Fallon. Convinced he could do what Conan couldn’t, NBC fired Jay a second time. (”He announced his ‘retirement.’” Again.) Leno didn’t want to leave either time. He was forced out by ratings considerations. Not the raw number of viewers. But by the AGE of his viewers.

There's a risk in that. Young viewers can be fickle.

Like you said in an earlier post, Fallon has cratered the high overall rating Leno left him. He does well with the audience NBC wants.

But my parents won’t watch him. And they’ve got all the money.

It was madness to force Leno off the air with 8 million eyeballs a week tuned in. Are 8 million pajama boys watching Fallon? Nope.
