The Warner Brothers cartoons were the best ever made. Then liberal weenies started complaining those cartoons were too violent, racist, sexist, whatever. So now we have children’s cartoons that are bland, insipid and full of leftist ideology.
I think Cartoon Network still runs some of the old Warner Brothers cartoons. Haven’t looked for them in a while. Given the depressing news today, I should start watching.
That’s why I love You Tube so much. You can’t find everything on there, but you can find A LOT!
Here's a start: Bully for Bugs (Archive.org).
Some of the gags are pure genius; i.e. the bull chalking the tips of his horns, like a pool cue.
BTW Those with a slow connection/dial-up might benefit from the use of the open-source Free Download Manager.
We have been buying cartoons for years. Not for grandsons, though we do share with them. The complete Bullwinkle & Rocky is on our list. Sadly, “Duck Rogers in the 24 1/2 Century” short series is not released on DVD yet. Tom Jones sung the opening song and played himself in cartoon form for an episode.
Cartoons used to make you laugh. They were vaudeville in its best form. But since it had bullets with faces, guns, smoking, and hitting each other, it was deemed evil.
The new, “better” cartoons are so much better! Kidnappings, beatings, robbery, acts of cruelty with laugh tracks, etc. Oh yeah, that is just so funny. /S
The Left has no sense of humor. I have always said I never trust anyone who cannot laugh at themselves or have a funny bone.
