You are so right about that. I personally think that MENSA is an acronym for “My Ego Needs Some Affirmation.”

That could be your problem. Math is supposed to be done with your head, not your achille’s heel...

Yes. It’s possible for the scientific method to lead us astray, into thinking it’s the only form of knowledge, but a truly intelligent and intellectual person looks beyond it.

There are worse things in life than owning a cat or a dog.

Wait a minute. Cat owns YOU.

a man who has a dog or a cat means he has a good heart and is kind.

Personally, I would not date a man who did not love animals for that reason. It’s my deal breaker. And of course, he must be single. I can’t stand married men who are looking for a bit on the side.

I have two dogs, and three cats.
The dogs pretty much ignore me because, well... I’m a man.
The three cats, however, are something of a basket of insanity.
22-pound Dutch has chainsaws for paws. And, he insures that I know it right when I’m about to go to sleep.
Jones, my Father’s cat, cuddles with my armpit. No accounting for taste.
Doom, the white terror, is slightly retarded.....

But he’s SOOOO CUTE!!!

Like I said. I’m doomed.
I’m going to bed now.
I hope to survive. But, ya never know.

From an evolutionary perspective, the narrow focus lends itself to successful hunting, problem solving, and survival outside a tribe.

Not to criticize here, but something I find paradoxical to my own assumptions: problem solving is considered a creative, hence broadly focused tendency. Hunting, I would think, requires an awareness of environment and constant scanning, and a narrow focus would be an impediment.

This is 60's and 70's thinking, and views on this may have changed. Again, these are just musings.
