We were never comfortable talking about this, but people need to know...
A heads-up to gardeners in Red Hampshire: my wife and I were told by an elected official in our RH town that "when you grow that many tomatoes (roughly 100), you have to expect that (a no-knock drug raid) to happen."
We did, and it did. Not sure about other areas of the country, but 'gardeners beware'.

What’s so wrong with a person raising 100 tomatoe plants?

Uuuhhmmmm....It is common for a family garden to have 100 tomato plants. On what grounds or what potential violation is the raid justified? Are homegrown tomatoes becoming illegal? I would truly like to learn more.

That has got to be the one of the stupidest things I ever heard. What the heck is so magical about 100? And who the heck can’t tell a tomato plant from something that might be illegal to grow?
