My son played rugby football when we lived in Ireland. He astounded them with his fakes while running the ball. Something not seen in Rugby there. He used head fakes, etc. Left them wanting to know where he went...while he went on to score, or advance a big gain.
Not seen much in low level rugby, but believe me, its a part of top level rugby, both union and league.
That’s why soccer hooliganism was invented, to combat the utter boredom on the field.
Soccer is capitalist and conservative. Big clubs get the big players, get the big crowds and the big money. Little clubs adapt or die.
Its AMERICAN/CANADIAN sport that’s socialist!. The draft system which makes sure nobody is bigger or better than anyone else, all equal. That’s socialism, baby.

As opposed to your national sports, where men pat each others ass or and the biggest player on the team spends 3-4 hrs with his hands on another man’s behind. At least the Canucks have an actual man’s sport.
Rugby has nothing to do with gridiron?. Are you for real?. Do you know ANYTHING about your game’s history. US and Canadian football are both based on rugby.
Oh, and whilst I share your and everyone’s hatred of Morgan (we Brits hate him more, as he printed faked photos of alleged abusive British soldiers....), BUT knock off the Brit-bashing. HATE HIM, NOT US.

Of course, the NCAA is similar, but that is at least an attack on those that are presumably old enough to understand what is happening.
I wasn’t talking about the business of soccer, business is business everywhere.
I fail to see that the fact that soccer can be played by anyone, and is open to all, in other words a truly democratic sport, is either excrement or socialist.
Some of the greatest soccer players have been small and light (others the opposite). Its a game defined by what you can do, not how big you are.
A meritocratic sport.
Not as played by US children; its not anything but acceptance of illegitimate and capricious authority.

I do know that in Ireland and there’s their own brand of Gaelic football (and Hurling), so have quite a variety of fields sports to choose from.

Come on Summer’s eve, use your brain, we can’t have 2 sports with the same name. Our kind of football is currently the most popular sport in the country, so the name is taken, end of story.

Gaelic football is probably more injury prone for the players than the NFL variety. One tough sport.
My grandmother was born in England. She came here with two of her brothers. Another eight siblings remained in England. I have many cousins there. I do not hate the British. And London is one of my favorite cities. Maggie Thatcher was a favorite of mine. I lived in Northern Ireland when she was first elected.
