Colorado baker who won't make gay wedding cakes ordered to sensitivity training

"They are turning people of faith into religious refugees."

Colorado bakery owner Jack Phillips never sought out a gay person to discrminate against, nor to harm in any way. He has no desire to do so.

But because he serves Jesus Christ above all else, Phillips was not about to be forced into participation in celebrating the "marriage" of two gay men. So when they entered his store to place an order for a wedding cake, he simply told them they would have to find a different bakery.

We've told you this story before, and it's now reached exactly the point many people feared it would all along. Phillips is being ordered by the State of Colorado not only to undergo sensitivity training, but to enact new policies for him and his staff, and to file quarterly reports with the state that prove he has not turned away any business from homosexuals.

Where are the legal challenges to this??? As a last resort this baker would be more than welcome in any number of states that haven’t drifted into insanity (yet)

A Canadian Christian university is suing because the legal bar association in that nation has said that because all their students are required to be serious Christians, their law school graduates shouldn’t be admitted to the bar.

President of B.C. law school ‘disappointed’ by bar society rulings in Nova Scotia, Ontario
Nova Scotia Barrister’s Society council ruled Friday that Trinity Western University must drop a covenant that prohibits same-sex intimacy before graduates from the school would be allowed to enroll in the province’s bar admission program.

Let me think. Why did the Pilgrims come to this land long, long ago?

I say good, churches shouldn’t be tax exempt. It gives the government a foot in the door. Let churches be self sufficient, then they can’t tell them what they can or cannot say.

That’s what I’m sick of- having to “celebrate “ this crap. Most of the people in the US just plain shouldn’t be here. I’m not going to throw freaking parties for them. I’m supposed to be happy millions of mexicans are flooding over where there used to be a sort-of border. I’m supposed to celebrate my dispossession and replacement. I’m supposed to dance for faggots, kiss crazy muslims- I do not.

Don’t go, refuse the court and make them prove the justice against freedom.

Judge, just because you want to endorse and promote medically and biologically DEVIANT behavior, and proclaim to the world that it’s just fine with you, doesn’t give the legal basis to impose those thoughts on me or my business.

This baker gets it. . . he knows Who is in charge of his life and will receive heavenly rewards for his public acknowledgement of Christ.

Does Phillips have a Monopoly on Bakeries or something?
Are there no other Bakeries that would make the Cake?

Looks like the State wants to make an example of a Private Citizen. Who woulda thunk it?

>”Let churches be self sufficient, then they can’t tell them what they can or cannot say”<

They are telling a Private Citizen who owns a Private Business what to say and do. Unless his Bakery is a Tax Exempt Church, your argument is invalid.

As appalling as this is, it’s nothing new. Liberal universities have been forcing their freshmen to undergo similar “sensitivity training” for years. That’s why so many young people change their attitudes about so called gay marriage once they attend college.

Be very careful about where you send your kids to school. We all tend to think our kids can stand up to the pressure, but in actuality, very few do.

“Bake them a cake and season it with ex-lax.”

That is the last thing they should do. It plays to the left’s stereo-types.

They should refuse the training. I’d sell the shop to a child or friend for a dollar so they couldn’t encumber it and sign up for welfare. He should make them send him to jail. Pay no fine, go to no training but otherwise do not fight back.

There has got to be a Christian lawyer somewhere that will appeal this pro bono This is one that needs to go to a higher court

This is not just a Christian thing. It violates the right to free association. The homosexuals were, as far as I know welcome to come in and buy any item from the case. The shop owners are being forced to associate with people whose lifestyle they are offended by. This is equivalent of a Jewish baker being asked to supply cake for a Neo-NAZI convention or a Star Trek fan being forced to attend a Star-Wars convention.

I was replying to someone that brought that up.

A privately owned business should be just that. Private.

The libs scream “pro choice!” However, they insist that Christians aren’t permitted to be pro choice.

The homosexual mantra is “consent.” What hypocrites.
