it's truly a sad state of affairs when the feeder series sounds better than the Premier stars do

“Stupid F1 cars sound like lawnmowers now. They are ruining motorsports”

This I will say: Audi have been running diesels in Le Mans for several years with great, great success.

I went to Laguna Seca in 2008 to watch the diesel in P1 and it was strange that the big car made such a low throated (low rpm) sound. It was a V8 that year. It also won the race.

They always screw up when they make a major formula change then fix it in the following years. I personally am loving the complete lack of rear grip and watching the cars twitch out of every corner.

Also, here's your Maldonado preview:

The V6 turbo cannot be fixed. They always say it is for costs of racing and the “green” factor. Well they got the highest cost power package in the history of racing right now. They also have absolutely the worst sounding engines in history.

Who gives a damn about racing costs? I don’t. If they cannot afford to race the quickest and fastest cars on the planet then go home. EVERY time any racing series says they are going to reduce costs it turns out the opposite happens.

Wanna know what they sound like? Just go to your local gokart track and watch the Briggs and Stratten class. Perfiect.

They are losing fans worldwide weekly and they even now have promoter problems. Ole Bernie may have to make new contracts with promoters or suffer reduced race schedule. And of course when he kicks the bucket the whole F1 will most likely collapse with all the fighting that will go on for control.

Had one myself, Straight 6’s are great, I love the drone of a BMW I6 and they really pack a punch. They are just like the Boxer’s because you can even up the firing order.

It’s the V6 configuration that sucks. 60degree banks is as close as you can get with a V6 to even firing order.

At a stop light you always feel a little vibration, and something happens to the sound. It’s like sound waves cancelling themselves out in the exhaust system or something.

Bulletproof old Nikon d40 with a pair of lenses and some decent seats across from No. 1 pit, Grandstand 1, sec. 3. The 300mm got me over the track and into the stables, funny because the "club" seats above them cost (I am told) $5000.00 for the event and the jet set was all leaning over trying to see what was right in front of us. I've been trying to learn from all those SWAMPSNIPER threads... But it's not easy shooting a race car at full speed. Panning seems to be the best approach. Sorry I don't have time to post more... These were some of the best, and I try to show you some of the people who make it possible, like the lonely guys with the extinguisher we saw on our long walk back...

even though they seem to do nothing but step on their own crank, i'd be most appreciative if you can get a shot or two of the McLarens, thx...
