"The Surface Pro 3 gives its mobile roots a nod with the inclusion of a full-fledged digitizer pen with 256 points of pressure—just like the Surface Pro 2. In fact, the entire Surface Pro 3 design revolves around note-taking; beyond the 3:2 aspect ratio, Microsoft has baked OneNote integration deeply into the pen."

I spoke with a guy who does 3-D modeling with Adobe products for 3-D printers. He raved about the Surface Pro 2's pen quality and accuracy. With the higher res screen, this must be a nice upgrade. To my knowledge, Apple has nothing equivalent.

I think that’s the market Microsoft intends to capture — those who want to do serious office work WITH MOBILITY.

For the most part, tablets have been designed to be great for watching movies, reading books, playing games, browsing the web, and amazing for digital “snacking” with apps.

Most laptops OTOH are designed to help you type term papers, write letters, work on big applications, work on spreadsheets, browse the web, create content, make movies… you name it.

In designing Surface, MS wanted to design a device that can marry the power of the full PC without compromising the sleek finish, elegant look and feel, light weight, thinness, and great battery life that folks expect from a tablet.

Whether this will sell briskly or not remains to be seen...

All I know is the BMW Group, The Coca-Cola Company and LVMH have seen the product and are ordering it for their company use...

My thoughts exactly. This is really for the pen support and portrait layout. It would be an amazing machine for taking notes and doing work. Plus you can use it as a very large tablet.
