I brought a scorpion into the dorms in the Air Force. It escaped and I lost interest, but a couple of days later, a guy down the hall did indeed scream and run away, jabbering about a “monster” in his room.

Cringed at this earlier.
But to be fair...most Brits haven't ever seen a scorpion and probably think they are like the bugs on Starship troopers.
We do have Scorpions but they are half blind and harmless ,living in the deepest recesses of caves &c.
But to scream at the sight of that tiddly thing...what a wuss.

Nope. No African bee's that I'm aware of. Have a friend that is a bee-keeper...He's not mentioned it.
I love butterflies and lady bugs myself.
I've tagged Monarchs for two or three years in the past for the University of Kansas...with my girls when they were very young.
I've seen hundreds of Monarchs passing thru these parts at one time!! Real fun....
I tended a pretty big garden in SoCal...before moving here. I don't appreciate the Lady Bugs like I did...when I had a big garden!!
