Committee decides to keep ‘Two Boys Kissing’ on school library shelves

“Two Boys Kissing” will stay in Fauquier High School’s library.

FHS parent Jessica Wilson made an official complaint to remove the book from the school library on Feb. 7, because she believed that the cover of the book condoned public displays of affection, which are against school policy.

Marie Miller, a teacher at FHS and the advisor for the school publication The Falconer said that she believes that those opposing the book were doing so not because of it’s lack of appropriateness for the students, but because it is a story about gay teens.

“If the focus of this book was on heterosexual teen relationships, it would not be the subject of a book challenge,” said Miller.

John Green, a member of the Fauquier County Transportation Committee, said that he doesn’t think that the material in the book is suitable for children under 18.

“Most High School students are under the age of 18,” said Green. “According to the Virginia Code, they are juveniles. The Virginia Code also defines obscene as material that as a whole appeals to an apparent interest in sex and excites lust. This book, I believe, meets that definition and is being made available to juveniles, which I believe to be inappropriate.”

JoEllen Murphy, a community member and parent, said that if the book were a movie, it wouldn’t be made available to minors.

“The ‘F-word’ is used 10 times,” said Murphy. “If this were a movie, it would be ‘R-rated.’ According to movie guidelines, ‘R-rated’ movies require a parent or guardian to be present during the viewing of the film. So if this were a DVD, and that library were a video store, the children would not be able to check it out.”

Further proof that the gay agenda is about nothing more than getting to our children.

Meanwhile:

The family of a 2nd grade student at Hamilton Elementary says their daughter’s book of choice – the Bible – was an issue of concern for her teacher, and that two weeks ago, during a “read to myself” time, the girl’s teacher took her Bible away.

Someone in that school would like see that that smut would find its way into the bathroom trash after a marinade in the toilet.

If the local community decides to expose their kids to this crap, it is well within their purview.

I believe local control of the schools is best.

That being said, if I were in this school district, and my child was at that school, I would work night and day to remove it—or keep it away from any curious eyes under the age of 18.

Two boys kissing? I wonder if they would keep a story with that title if it were the story of Judas betraying Christ.

she guided him to find literature that helped him find his identity.

If heterosexual people do not define their identities based on how they find sexual pleasure, why do the gays do it?

A person is so much more that where they 'stick their junk'.
Why do they insist on selling themselves so short. It puzzles me.

Gay Man: "I'm a homosexual man. It's who I am. It's how I define myself."

Other Man: "Big deal. What did you get on your SATs? Did you graduate college with good grades? Do you volunteer to help the needy?"

Another reason to enact laws mandating flogging for the Fauquier County (VA) Public School Board members and the Fauquier High School principal and administration when convicted of moral abuse of children by allowing such perversion into the school libraries.

“When an opponent declares, ‘I will not come over to your side, and you will not get me on your side,’ I calmly say, ‘Your child belongs to me already. A people lives forever. What are you? You will pass on. Your descendants however now stand in the new camp. In a short time they will know nothing else but this new community’.”- Hitler at Elbing, Germany, when the Nazi conspirators publicly announced the purposes of their educational and training program.
“The youth of today is ever the people of tomorrow. For this reason we have set before ourselves the task of inoculating our youth with the spirit of this community of the people at a very early age, at an age when human beings are still unperverted and therefore unspoiled. *** This Reich stands, and it is building itself up for the future, upon its youth. And this new Reich will give its youth to no one, but will itself take youth and give to youth its own education and its own upbringing.”- Adolph Hitler, 1 May 1937.

It's northern Virginia; overrun by leftist transplants, and infecting the entire state. Just one of many reasons I left Virginia, never to return. If you were in this school district, you would do better to REMOVE your child from the public school system, working day and night to pay for private education or provide home schooling. That is precisely what many of my neighbors did.

Wait.... A male student having a picture of a naked boy on his phone can be arrested and charged with child porn but the Library can have a child porn book on the shelves and that is okay?
Our society is so screwed up I am not sure it can ever recover...

Incorrect, Child porn is against the law in every State. There is seriously something wrong at this school.
