I doubt it's an allergic reaction, but Cephalexin can have pretty nasty side-effects because it can work too well. I kills all the germs, even the good ones, and that can lead to pretty bad secondary infections. A girl I once knew told me every time she takes it she gets a bad yeast infection.

My wife has been on it full time 500mg a day for well over 10 years. She had to have a bladder bypass done and it keeps out infection. ER Doctors and nurses freak. Urologist told her if they have questions or issues about it tell them to call me.
